Abstract: this paper synthesizes findings from studies exploring the concept of friendship across different cultural contexts. The research examines linguistic variations in the understanding of friendship, the role of friendship in buffering against social and economic challenges, and the influence of cultural values on friendship. The review highlights the importance of both universal and culture-specific aspects of friendship and emphasizes the role of friendship in individual well-being.
